SEPARATION OF CHILDREN
In a child care setting, you can reduce the risk of illness and injury by separating older children from younger children and those in diapers from those not in diapers. The presence of infants and toddlers under 3 years old who are still in diapers poses a higher risk for the spread of diarrheal diseases and hepatitis A. Separating groups of children can help to keep infectious diseases of one group from spreading to other groups. Separating children by age also is helpful in encouraging children to participate in activities appropriate to their age. |
